The surgery opens at 08:00 Monday to Friday. However, please note the phone lines do not open until 08:30.
Telephone the Practice on 01923 672451 from 08:30 – 13:00.
Please Note: Our phone lines are covered by our Out of Hours service provider Monday to Friday between 13:00 – 14:00.
If you contact us after 14:00 you will only be seen on that day if it is medically urgent.
Appointment times are 10 minutes in length. This is sufficient time to allow for 1 significant or 2 minor problems to be dealt with. If you have a number of problems, please ask for additional time when booking your appointment. This will allow the doctors to run to time and minimise the waiting time for other patients.

As part of a group of GP Practices working together as a GP Federation, Sheepcot Medical Centre provides access to weekday evening and weekend appointments in the Watford Extended Access (WEA) service, which is managed by Direct Local Health Ltd. Our patients can now make an appointment to see a GP on weekday evenings, Saturdays 9am - 1pm and 3pm - 7pm, and Sundays 9am - 1pm; to see a Nurse on Saturdays 9am - 1pm and to have blood tests with a Phlebotomist on Saturdays and Sundays. Please ask the receptionist for further details on how to book an appointment. During these appointments your health record may be accessed and viewed by clinical staff other than your GP or a GP at your practice. Please be assured that your confidentially will be maintained; for the service's full Privacy Statement please see 'Patient Information' at www.dlhealth.co.uk.
You can book an appointment up to 4 weeks in advance.
We will always try to offer same day appointments for emergencies. Patients seeking an urgent appointment should be aware that they may be assessed by our Nurses in the first instance. They advise on treatment or refer to the doctor as necessary.
Appropriate Use of Appointments
Please do not use appointments solely for repeat prescriptions or sickness certificates, unless requested to do so by a doctor.
Advice by telephone can also be requested, which can save you and the doctor a significant amount of time.
The practice is committed to putting patients at ease whenever possible. A chaperone is available for examinations at either patient or doctor request.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to offer the slot to someone else.
